Notes on Andre’s racquet
These specs and photos were sent to me by a friend with a Babolat RDC machine who sometimes comes across pro racquets.
This is a particularly valuable find because it still has the original strings in it: Ashaway Kevlar 16 mains and Babolat VS Gut 1.41. The original tension is shown as being 65 pounds by Andre’s racquet expert, Jay’s Custom Stringing in New York. This is a standard-length racquet with a beam width of 20mm. Check out this string pattern: 20 × 21 — 82 holes!
Because of the historical importance of this racquet, the overgrip and/or grip have been left intact.
